The Field for the 1st running of the
The SDP Juvenile Stakes run at 1 1/6 in Canada will help determine the new and up coming star for the SDP Canadian Triple Crown. Lets meet the field.
Ami De Queen – Owned by Louisville Derby winning trainer Bob Olivia. Ami is the only filly in the race but she holds her own in here. Last time out the filly splashed through the muddy track to win by 1 1/4 lengths. She received a very nice speed figure in that race. She now faces the boys as she preps for the SDP Triple Crown.
Arsonistic – Owned by Rebecca Hepburn this colt’s first time out was not a factor going a mile. Coming of the lay off Hepburn got this one into shape and got this one to win at second asking. He will have to have an improved effort to run with some of these, but keep him in your exotics.
Boise will B Boise – Trained by Santino Di Paola was not a factor first time out. He dropped into a reachable spot last out for $32,000 and was a winner. His brother loved the muddy track so we will see if he can step up his game on an off going.
Ghostly Father – Trained by Joey Wanderful was not a factor first time out. Only thing going for this one is the sloppy track.
Literature Legacy – Trained by Lucas Davenport. This one is one of two maidens in the race. He ran a very respectable second to a freak last out but will have to stay on the improve to get in one of the top three spots. I wouldn’t discount this one for a top three spot.
Pretty High – Trained by: Todd Lucas. Pretty High had a very impressive last to first debut when winning at first asking for $100,000 claiming. He will have to continue on the improve, but definitely has a shot against these horses.
Times Square – Trained by Champion Trainer Eric Nalbone. Times Square is another undefeated son of Just Victory. In his first start he held off all comers to win with an 80 Speed Figure. His works are extremely impressive and he will be heavy favorite come post time.
Urban Myth – Trained by Rachel Sadler. Urban is going to be a big threat to Times Square as he is also unbeaten in one start and he has already proven that he likes the off going.
This field of 8 runners is very competitive and it is sure to be a good race. We will all look forward to how well these horses do going into the SDP Canadian Triple Crown next year.
1st Times Square
2nd Urban myth
3rd Ami De Queen
Best of luck to everyone running and thanks for being apart of this!
